 The City of Mt. Shasta is located in the southern part of Siskiyou County,
approximately 60 miles from the California and Oregon border. Mount Shasta City is
situated at the base of the southwestern slope of Mt. Shasta, a 14,162 foot volcano, and
second highest peak, in the Cascade Range and in the United States. Mount Shasta City elevation is 3,563 feet and the population within the city limits is approximately 5,700. The towns of Dunsmuir, McCloud, and Weed all surround the Mountain and share in it's resource here is southern Siskiyou County. We are surrounded by pine-covered forest and situated within the Shasta Trinity National Forest.
